Dr.
Sengbusch
Dr. Gary L. Sengbusch was born in 1948 in Algona, Iowa. During his
childhood, his family settled in Milaca, Minnesota, and he grew up
on a dairy farm. He left Milaca in 1966, after high school.
He
earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Concordia College in Moorhead,
Minnesota in 1970. Upon graduation, he served two years in the U.S.
Army and was stationed in Germany.
Upon
return to civilian life, Gary followed his original dream to be a schoolteacher.
He taught 7th and 8th grades for four years in Winnetka, Illinois. During
that period an earlier desire to study dentistry resurfaced.
Gary
earned his DDS degree from the University of Illinois Medical College
at Chicago in 1982. Upon graduation, he took a public service position
with the Indian Health Service on the Crow Indian reservation in Montana.
He served as the sole dentist supporting Lodge Grass Montana for 2 ½
years.
Dr.
Sengbusch then moved to north Arkansas and started a private practice
in Cotter, Arkansas. He maintained that practice for five years. Gary
wished to return to the mountains, and so moved to Billings, Montana
in 1987. He built a general practice that was primarily an adult restorative
practice.
Dr.
Sengbusch has attended many hours of continuing education that includes
studies at the L. D. Pankey Institute, and numerous other advanced programs.
His priority is to build a practice based on comprehensive dentistry
and long-term relationships with his patients.
Dr.
Sengbusch has recently remarried and moved to the Lake Travis area outside
of Austin, Texas. He and his wife, Sharon, live on Lake Travis. His
hobbies include fishing, boating, traveling, and riding snowmobiles,
motorcycles, and ATVs.
Dr.
Sengbusch has a twenty one year old son who is attending Montana State
University in Bozeman, Montana.
Michelle
Leigh Parker
Michelle was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1973 and lived there until
age 11. Her family then moved to Lubbock. She feels that she really
grew up there. In 1991, her parents and younger sister moved back to
Memphis after Michelle finished high school. She misses them terribly
but cannot imagine living anywhere but Texas! She visits her family
several times a year and is still trying to convince them to move to
Austin.
Michelle
attended Howard Junior College on an athletic training scholarship.
These years stimulated her interest in the medical/dental field. In
1997 she moved to Austin to work for a retail clothing chain as a buyer.
In that role, she enjoyed traveling and working with people. When that
business decided to close in 2002, Michelle decided that she would make
a career change. She wanted the stability of an office position, but
one where she could still have a lot of interaction with people.
Michelle
attended Allied Health Technology Institute in Austin, taking the program
for dental assisting. She completed her externship at a cosmetic dentist
office in Westlake. At that office, she worked chair-side as well as
in the front office. This position gave her lots of experience dealing
with insurance. She also worked with medical insurance for a local chain
pharmacy while she was taking her courses in assisting. So Michelle
brings lots of experience with insurance companies – which she
uses to make the patients’ experience better.
She
feels really excited about the opportunity to work with such an experienced
dentist as Dr. Sengbusch. She says she is learning something new every
day, and always has that big smile she shares with all of us!
She
now lives off of Bee Caves Road in Senna Hills with her dog, Roxi, and
her roommate Hallie. Hallie is a dental assistant and is also a massage
therapist. In her free time Michelle likes to swim and snow ski. She
still enjoys traveling and does so whenever she gets a chance.
